Uterine Cancer Symptoms
Uterine cancer also known as Endometrial Cancer or endometrial carcinoma occurs from the glands of the lining of the uterus. Uterus is a pear shaped organ in the pelvis. Uterus cancer is a type of gynecological cancer in women. The cells that line the uterus may grow as well as increase in number. Cancer of the uterus might also spread to the vaginal canal, the abdominal and pelvic glands, the ovaries, lungs, bones and the brain.
The most common uterine cancer symptoms are:
1. Abnormal and unexpected heavy bleeding after the menopause. It may be pink and watery, blood streaked discharge containing more blood and having foul smell. Women above the age of 35 experiencing abnormal bleeding is also a uterus cancer symptom, although rarely found. There might be absence of periods for more than 90 days. Also the uterus is sometimes found enlarges during the medical examination.
Advanced uterine cancer symptoms include:
1. Difficulty in urination. It might also be painful to urinate and pain during sexual intercourse. The swelling in the urinary tract might cause severe pain, burning, urgency and bladder spasms.
2. Pain in the pelvic region and a development of a lump in the pelvis.
3. Loss of weight suddenly and unexpectedly and appetite and pain in the lower back.
4. Vaginal discharge after menopause which is white, thin and clear.
5. Heavy and constant bleeding.
6. Spotting between menstrual periods or long intervals between periods.
7. Periods might occur which are heavy, or longer than normal.
8. Endometrial hyperplasia is a condition when the lining of the uterus over grows due to the increase of normal cells. This happens due to the imbalance of estrogen and progesterone. The common uterine cancer symptoms of this kind are abnormal bleeding, bleeding after menopause and bleeding between periods. The other uterine cancer symptoms of this type may include pain during sexual intercourse and painful bowel movements. Pain in the pelvis and abdomen. Also infertility is a symptom.
9. Gastrointestinal disturbances: Tumors or swelling on the digestive system may lead to constipation, diarrhea, gas, indigestion, nausea, feeling of fullness every time, changes in the bowel habits. Feeling or being sick always is also a common symptom.
10. Swelling in the abdomen: Clothes might tighten and not fit due to the selling of the abdomen.
11. Lumps or bumps, sores, or thickening of the vagina might occur. Vaginal itching, burning, bleeding or abnormal discharge could take place.
12. A condition called fibroid tumors originates in the uterus which is usually multiple tumors than single tumors.
symptoms of Uterus cancer of this kind are: irregular bleeding, frequent urination and discharge from the vagina. If the fibroid tumors affect the nearby organs they might cause severe pain.
13. Endometriosis is common uterus cancer symptom in women who are between thirties and forties. This condition arises in women who have not been pregnant. There is an unusual growth of endometrial tissues on the ovaries, outside the uterus and somewhere else in the abdomen.
When the cancer spreads outside the uterus it might affect the lymph nodes, nerves and blood vessels.
